Profile of Consultants

John Quek (Work-Life Project Consultant)

John QuekJohn has extensive experience in managing WoW! projects. He has worked closely with officers from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and various agencies to review various companies’ work-life proposals and coordinated joint work-life seminars. He has also been invited by the MOM to assist the latter in the review and rating of Work-Life Excellence Award applications in 2006.

Charged with the responsibility of driving the adoption of work-life strategies among Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) member companies, John has conducted briefings on specific work-life strategy topics for SNEF and has helped develop several work-life training course materials. During his tenure at SNEF, he has assisted more than 100 companies in their application of work-life grants. These companies comprise MNCs, private institutions and non-profit organizations. As work-life project officer, he provided work-life consultation and advisory services to both members and non-members companies. John is a Certified Work-Life Consultant accredited by the Ministry of Manpower to provide Work-Life Strategies consultation to companies. 

John graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Master of Human Resources and Industrial Relations. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce degree (majoring in Corporate Finance and Management) from the same campus. He also has a Diploma of Business (with Merit), majoring in Finance and Human Resource. John is currently pursuing his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from the University of Western Australia and is expected to graduate in year 2009.

 

Dr. Amy Daniel (Personal Work-Life Effectiveness Trainer)

Dr Amy DanielDr. Amy Daniel has an extensive employment history covering a variety of appointments over a span of more than 20 years. She was trained overseas and has degrees in psychology and counselling from Australia, as well as a Ph.D. from Europe. She has also attended several training courses in the United States and Australia. 

Her training portfolio covers applied psychology for the corporate world, developmental psychology (for counsellors, parents and teachers), emotional intelligence, stress management, interpersonal effectiveness, basic counselling skills, parenting skills, motivation, enhancing self-esteem and self-confidence. She has a keen interest in the general area of self-management, maximising human potential and maintaining work-life balance. She has recently been called upon to spearhead courses on racial harmony and cross-cultural sensitivity. 

Dr. Daniel has designed and conducted customized training workshops for a variety of government agencies, statutory boards, corporate bodies, schools and junior colleges as well as voluntary organizations and welfare agencies. She was appointed in 2001 as Resource Speaker and Family Life Ambassador by MCYS to promote family life and parent education. In 2004 she was recruited by MCYS’ Personal Work-Life Effectiveness Unit to promote sound work-life strategies in the corporate world. 

She was also appointed by the President of Singapore to serve on the Panel of Advisors to the Juvenile Court for two years. Her previous appointments include a five-year stint as Student Counsellor at the National University of Singapore, and Student Counsellor and Staff Formator at a local independent school. 

Presently Dr. Daniel lectures in the Diploma in Organisational Counselling, the Certificate in Applied Psychology as well as the Work Skills Training Programmes at the Singapore Human Resources Institute. She also conducts training workshops on emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, interpersonal excellence and basic counselling skills for the Institute. At the Executive Counselling and Training Academy she lectures in developmental psychology and cross-cultural issues in counselling and also serves as clinical supervisor and personal therapist. She has also designed and conducts courses on cross-cultural sensitivity in customer service for the Central Singapore Joint Social Service Centre. She undertakes individual counselling by appointment.

 

Mrs Judy Vivian McBurney (Work-Life Principal Trainer)

Mrs. Judy Vivian McBurneyJudy is a firm believer of “People are the Assets in every Company”.  She has 14 years of hands-on experience in HR Training and Development, plus more than 9 years of international experience as a franchisee and entrepreneur.  She has been instrumental in initiating, implementing and evaluating many work-life strategy policies and programmes, people developer programmes and knowledge management systems. She has held external financial auditing and key management positions in MNCs and SMEs and has an excellent knowledge of the retail industry.

An Associate Trainer with Singapore Human Resource Institute (SHRI), Judy lectures at Singapore Professional Executive Council (SPEC)/SHRI Work Skills Training Programme.  She also conducts workshops for corporations, associations and is a guest speaker at various seminars in Singapore and Australia.   She holds a MA (Economics), Leicester University (UK), Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance), St. Mary’s University (Canada) and is Ministry of Community Youth and Sports’ Certified Work-Life Strategies Consultant.

NTUC Fair Price, Grandplaza Park Royal Hotel, Ministry of Education, National Institute of Education, Australian International School Singapore, Brahm Education Centre, Grand Hyatt Hotel, Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, Motorola Singapore Pte Ltd, are some of the organisations that have engaged Judy for their Work-Life Strategies Workshops and Personal Work-Life Effectiveness Seminars.

 

Edward Whistler Goh (Job Redesign Project Consultant)  

Edward W GohEdward Whistler N M Goh (Eddie) is the CEO and founder of Edward Whistler International Group of companies, providing international business consulting and management training services. He has successfully led and managed a regional team of over 100 highly skilled professionals in analyzing and implementing value management and business improvement projects in South East Asia. Currently, he has successfully completed many national initiatives such as Strategic Planning for Internationalization, Branding, Work & Job Redesign (People Partners Award by Spring Singapore 2002 and 2003), Business Continuity Planning, Enterprises Capability Development, Service Excellence, etc.  

Eddie holds a MBA in International Management from Royal Holloway College, University of London. His credentials include Accredited Corporate Trainer in BPR, Communication Strategies with IMPAC University, USA; Qualified ISO 9000 Assessor with Battalas Handley Walker; Masters in Productivity with the Association of Productivity Specialist (APS), New York, USA; Certified Trainer with the American Management Association (AMA); Accredited TEC Chair/Executive Coach; Council Member with the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMa). He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in International Business with the University of Western Australia.

 

Mary Anne Mckittrick (Health and Wellness Trainer)

Mary Anne McKittrick has worked in the Health and Wellness industry for 25 years.  Educated in the United States with Bachelor and Master Degrees, she has been a faculty of Oregon College and Wellness officer of one of the leading providers of Corporate Wellness services in the United States, Club One.  Club One out of San Francisco is the founding company of Planet Fitness in Singapore, and is known in the U.S. for it’s revolutionary approach to Wellness and Behavior Change. Club One maximizes human performance in the workplace, serving over 150 corporate clients including many well known multinational companies such as Motorola, General Electric, Chevron, Samsung, e Bay, and Applied Materials - to name a few.   Mary Anne is highly experienced in all aspects of Wellness and Behavior Change, and works with corporations throughout SE Asia.  She is also a lecturer at Nanyang Polytechnic.  

Mary Anne believes strongly in the mind-body connection for creating and maintaining optimum life balance.  She believes all stress is the result of imbalance between the mind and body, and brings her passion for working with the body to the field of Work-Life Balance.   Her Dynamic workshops teach body intelligence tools that can be used to achieve mental and emotional mastery of the self, creating inner balance from which job performance is then optimized.  Her personal passion for Work-life balance, combined with her experience in global leading-edge techniques for measuring and implementing behavior change has made her one of the leading trainer in her field of work.
